Hank McGregor has won the multiple Berg River Marathons in this boat and Andy Birkett has won the Dusi and Non-Stop Dusi in it too.<\/p>\n<p>This K1 has had great success on flat-water marathons too, winning the 2011 <strong>World Marathon Championships<\/strong> and 2013 <strong>U23 World Marathon Championships<\/strong>. It has good maneuverability and a high cruising speed. It requires little effort to keep it on a plane, which is crucial for a marathon boat. This boat comes with the option of a higher foot-box area to accommodate paddlers with big feet more comfortably.<\/p>\n<p>It can take a paddler of up to <strong>80kg<\/strong> on a river. It has a round hull from the nose through to the tail, with a full tail giving good volume preventing the tail from sinking into the water, alleviating the porpoise effect that can occur in boats and ensuring good speed through a turn.
